Early morning fraud alert!

I never check my phone first thing in the morning.

The first thing I do when I get up is to read my bible and say my prayers. I find that it sets me up for the day like today when I saw a fraud alert warning from our credit card company. According to them, there appeared to be a fraudulent activity on our card (its a joint card with the Mhinisteir).

I was asked to reply to the text but decided to phone the credit card company which I did after breakfast.

I failed at the first hurdle when I couldn’t remember my memorable word! Thankfully the young man at the other end was quite nice. He said he would ask me another security question. “On 11 December 2020, where did you spend £12.64”? I was so stunned by the question that I couldn’t think! I mean one can’t remember every transaction and in any case it is a joint card so the Mhinisteir could have bought something! After regaining my composure I was able to give him the correct answer.

It soon transpired that the alleged fraudulent transaction was by Zoom! I managed to explain to the nice man on the other end that it was the Mhinisteir trying to pay for his official Church Zoom account!
