Since the pandemic, very few things are working properly in England’s green and pleasant land. By the way even our grass is very brown at the moment! 🤣
Anyway, I had previously written about how the pandemic is exposing our broken system. I know it is not true but it feels like nothing is working at the moment especially if you are at the receiving end of it all!
About a month ago, the Mhinisteir had ordered domestic heating oil to prepare us for Autumn. Needless to say that it hasn’t been delivered yet! When the Mhinisteir phoned them up, they told him that they had attempted to deliver it but the driver couldn’t reverse into our little lane! I am home all day! There was no knock on the door or even a slip to say this was the case. Instead, the Mhinisteir had to ring them up to get this vital piece of information. He was then told that the oil will be delivered last Friday but again still no sign of it!
Last week, the Mhinisteir ordered some ink cartridge for his printer. As you can probably guess, they too haven’t turned up. According to ParcelForce, they tried delivering twice but there was no one at home which is a blatant lie because we both were home on the said days and again there was not even a slip! How is anyone supposed to get anything done?
Finally, we receive a fraud alert for our joint credit card every other week (no joke) which often results in either of our cards being cancelled and replaced. As you can imagine, it is extremely inconvenient as I have to update all our payment details every single time we get sent a new card!
