I was up at 6.50am as the boiler man was coming to service the Vicarage boiler. In the country, 8am is too early to be up (not including Farmers) let alone be ready for the tradesman while 8pm is too late in the night for any social activity!!!
Unusually, I had to have a nap before lunch as I was not feeling great.
At lunchtime, I heard aboutthe train derailment in Stonehaven which was shocking. How devastating for the families! I hope there were no school children on board the train as school has restarted in Scotland.
Soon after lunch, the Mhinisteir left for his meeting. By then, the temperature had gone up to 37c! I decided to catchup on housework. First on the list was changing of the sheets. I turned on the fan and started stripping the bed. The next minute I was on the floor with the fan mangled!!!!!! What have I done???? The fan stopped working and the head was detached from the body. What was I thinking? We can’t do without the fan today of all days. What am I to tell the Mhinisteir? The truth of course!
I needed to act fast. I grabbed a screw driver and took the fan apart. I tightened all that needed tightening and put the fan together again. It was not easy and I was sweating a bucket load. I said a quick prayer and turned on the fan. It worked!
